Body's Wisdom Program

An individualized 12-week trauma healing program that meets once a week for 90 minutes each session. This program is created for women who have a specific traumatic event that they are ready to heal from. 

What to Expect

Body's Wisdom combines Somatic Experiencing®, trauma-informed yoga and meditation practices to help you return to your most authentic self and reach self-actualization. 

 

Your first session will be facilitated over Zoom. The purpose of the initial session is to gather information around your PTSD symptoms, physiological needs, psychological needs, and overall quality of daily living. 

Together, we will establish treatment goals for the 12 weeks that we're working together. At the end of the first session, I will provide you with somatic tools to help regulate your nervous system. 

The next time I see you, I will provide you with a personalized comprehensive guide on how to improve overall mental health that directly addresses your areas of need. 

During Each 90 minute Session

During each session, you will engage in a settling exercise and complete a symptom rating scale. I will teach you how to recognize nervous system dysregulation and support you in regulating your nervous system during the session. 

Each session, I will invite you to engage in Somatic Experiencing®,, trauma-informed yoga, or a specific somatic exercise. This is dependent on the state of your nervous system during the session. 

At the end of every session, you will have the opportunity to reflect on your experience and ask questions to gain more clarity around your healing process. 

By the end of the 12 weeks, you will:

  • Have a strong understanding of the Autonomic Nervous System

  • Understand trauma and how it has impacted your nervous system

  • Know how to track your nervous system

  • Have the capacity to support your nervous system when you're in a state of survival 

  • Increase your ability to sit with uncomfortable sensations and emotions

  • Feel more connected with your body and self as a whole
